VARIATION OF FOOD MIXED (BMC) INCREASE IN CHILDREN WITH WEIGHT LESS NUTRITION

Child is the next generation the ideals of the nation, that grows and blossoms optimal nutritional needs

must be met. Common problems we face are still malnourished. One of the factors its cause the still low of public
knowledge about maintenance of nutrition toddlers in particular ingredient composite food. Provision of Food
Mixture (BMC) is a material containing high carbohydrate and protein as a solution. This feed material comprises
a mixture of soy and rice because of readily available and easily processed as a hawker. Purpose of the study to
determine the weight difference toddler (1-5 years) are given snacks Food Mixture (BMC) and not on malnutrition
in the village Karangdayu Baureno Bojonegoro district in 2012.
The study is a quasi-experimental, time series design. Population of all children with malnutrition were
26, samples taken by simple random sampling technique with a large sample of 12 respondents treated group
and 12 respondents as a control. Indenpendent variable is the provision of BMC and the dependent variable is
weight gain. Test used was a repeated measure ANOVA test statistiuk to determine the effect of BMC on the
treatment and analysis of independent sample t-test to test for differences in body weight between the treatment
and control groups.
On the treatment group there were weight gain in the first and second week after being given the BMC,
with an increasing trend over time. Demonstrated a linear relationship with the sig. 0.002, meaning that the
relationship of body weight linear BMC, while the control group did not increase.
The conclusion to be given less BMC in infants nutrition, the body weight increased. Weight infants
who were given BMC malnutrition better than those not given the BMC no difference in weight gain before the
given BMC. Therefore, researchers recommend the parents to make snacks from BMC as snacks that contain
high calories and protein.
